Helicopters again could not join the search for the missing Bulgarian climber Boyan Petrov. The machines did not fly on 11th of May because of bad weather conditions. They are currently at 3,700 metres below the base camp, waiting for better weather tomorrow. This was announced at a news conference by the Chinese Ambassador in Bulgaria Zhang Haizhou.
The Chinese Ambassador said that the rescue team consists of three groups, the first of which have already left and heading towards base camp 1. The plan envisages to reach the third camp before Sunday and by 14th of May to head towards the top of Shisha Pangma.
Boyan Petrov was reported missing during his attempt to ascent Shish Pangma (8,027 m) in the Himalayas on May 3. The search efforts were going on for days but were called off due to bad weather conditions.
