Bulgaria’s Constitutional Court decided that is it admissible to consider the request of the Chief Prosecutor for interpretation of the Constitution's provision on the immunity of the President and Vice President.
The decision was made with 9 votes in favour and 3 with reservations. Thus the top for this year constitutional court case will begin in substance and stakeholder opinions will be sought.
At the beginning of the year, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev asked the Constitutional Court to interpret the provision on the immunity of the head of state and his deputy. He asked in which case the President and Vice President could be investigated.
