Seventeen new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 1273 PCR tests. Seven of them were hospitalised. The total number of cases in the country is 2477. The increase is by 0.7% compared to yesterday, the head of the national task force, Prof Ventsislav Mutafchiyski said on May 28.
The active cases are 1378.
The latest cases include 6 in Sofia, 4 in Pazardzhik, 2 in Vidin, 2 in Shumen, 1 in Sliven, 1 in Yambol and 1 in Haskovo.
The number of medical professionals infected with the virus is now 255. A nurse from Yambol tested positive over the past 24 hours.
53 people recovered today, the total recoveries are 965.
A 75 year old man died in Plovdiv over the past 24 hours. The average age of fatalities is 65.6 years.
The task force said that despite the relaxation of some of the anti-epidemic measures, the wearing of protective masks in indoor public places remains in effect.
