Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 8,932 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 8,932 from 39,445 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on January 21.

Test positivity rate is nearly 23%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 860,877.

The active cases are 187,765.

Of the total, 5,198 patients are in hospitals, 530 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 381 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 640,594

· 19,191 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 4,078,145.

· 87 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 32,518.

Of the daily cases, 77.24% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 89.66% had not been vaccinated.

There were 529 new hospitalisations, of which 81.47% had not been vaccinated.

*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination.
