Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 9,874 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 9,874 from 37,945 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on January 28.

Test positivity rate is 26%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 923,466.

The active cases are 227,281.

Of the total, 5,455 patients are in hospitals, 520 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 4,676 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 663,168

· 12,636 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 4,139,365.

· 78 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 33,017.

Of the daily cases, 76.71% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 89.74% had not been vaccinated.

There were 691 new hospitalisations, of which 86.83% had not been vaccinated.

*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination.
