Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Sharp rise to 3,449 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 3,449 from 36,449 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on December 30.

Test positivity rate is nearly 10%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 740,682

The active cases are 99,139.

Of the total, 4,071 patients are in hospitals, 462 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 2,276 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 610,724

· 19,901 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 3,682,460.

· 162 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 30,819.

Of the daily cases, 79.44% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 92.59% had not been vaccinated.

There were 761 new hospitalisations, of which 85.41% had not been vaccinated.

*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination.
