The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria is 1024, the national task force said in its daily afternoon update on April 22. Nine more cases cases were registered during the day. Three of the new ones are from Sofia district, two are from Plovdiv, two from Kyustendil, one in Pazardzhik and one in Pernik.
262 of the Covid-19 patients are treated in hospitals, 37 of them are in intensive care.
A total of 83 medical specialists tested positive for the virus.
In terms of the total cases, 522 are men and 502 are women.
The cases in the districts affected by the coronavirus across the country are as follows: Blagoevgrad – 22; Bourgas – 41; Varna - 25; Veliko Turnovo – 11; Vidin – 27; Vratsa – 2; Gabrovo – 4; Dobrich – 13; Kardzhali – 13; Kyustendil – 28; Lovech – 2; Montana – 18; Pazardzhik – 18; Pernik – 9; Pleven – 54; Plovdiv – 40; Rousse - 7; Silistra - 2; Sliven – 25; Smolyan – 33; Sofia – 575; Stara Zagora – 32; Haskovo – 15; Shumen – 4; Yambol – 4.
49 patients have died. Two died today: a 87 year old woman in the Military Medical Academy in Sofia and a 57 year old man in Smolyan.
