Day 59 of anti-government protests

On day 59 (September 5) of anti-government protests, demonstrators gathered at Independence square in central Sodia and blocked traffic to Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard. Then went on a procession to Eagles’ Bridge where traffic was also blocked.

They again demanded the resignation of the government, the Chief Prosecutor and early elections.

The rally passed without incidents and tension.

Unlike yesterday, the police this evening did not set access points at the crossroads with Saborna street and the Largo from the side Serdika metro station. The police were only doing random checks.

At 23:30, the crossroads at Eagles’ Bridge re-opened to traffic.

Shortly after 23:00, the police was talking with the remaining participants in the protest at Eagles’ Bridge.

The procession to Eagles’ Bridge took place around 21:20.

Traffic at Tsar Osvoboditel and Dondukov boulevards was blocked at 19:40.the tent camp that was set up last night there was lifted early this morning by the protesters after orders by the gendarmerie.

The start of this evening’s protest was at 19:00.
