Day 61 (September 7) of anti-government protests in Sofia passed without incidents and tension.

The protest organisers said they were in the Triangle of Power area for another night in a row to demand the resignation of the government and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev.

On the facade of the building of Parliament, the protesters projected footage with police violence towards protesters during the “Grand National Uprising” rally on September 2.

At 21:10, the demonstators walked along the route of the procession to Eagles’ Bridge.

Minutes before that, the organisers said from the rostrum outside the Presidency that on Thursday, when the “Grand National Uprising” 2 is scheduled, the protesters would respond to the water cannon with water pistols, to the firework bombs with salty sticks, and to the sprays ... they would eat more beans.

Shortly before 20:00, the protesters blocked the traffic to Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard.

They were chanting “We are not afraid”.

As on previous nights, the starting point of the protest was outside the building of the Presidency, where the protesters were collecting signatures for a petition in support of machine voting.

Day 60 (September 6) of anti-government protests also went without tensions. The demands of the protesters remained the same: resignation of the government and the Chief Prosecutor. The traditional procession to Eagles’ Bridge took place, where the protesters temporarily stopped then traffic, but there were no barricades.
