Day 65 of anti-government protests

On September 11, demonstrators protested in the Triangle of Power in Sofia for the 65th consecutive night. Their demands remain unchanged - the immediate resignation of the government, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, the introduction of machine and electronic voting, changes in the judicial system.

The protesters projected on the building of the National Assembly videos with various speeches of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, and at times booed him.

The organizers announced that they will file a civil lawsuit against Parliament Speaker Tsveta Karayancheva, and the money will go to ISUL Hospital. The motive for the lawsuit: to see how she will prove in court that Bozhkov (referring to gambling businessman Vassil Bozhkov) paid the "Poisonous Trio" for the protests.

Arriving at Orlov Most Eagles’ Bridge), the protesters learned about the participation of the Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva in BNT’s "Panorama" current affairs show and went to the building of BNT to protest, chanting "resignation".

Upon leaving the building of the public service broadcaster after the show, Minister Sacheva stopped to talk with the protesters and said that resignation was not considered and that she was not afraid to meet with the protesters. She added that people have the right to protest. The protesters said their decision to come to BNT to meet with the minister was spontaneous.

Minutes before 21:30 p.m., as on previous nights, the protesters walked the route of the procession to Eagles’ Bridge.

Shortly before 20:00, the protesters blocked traffic to Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard. The demonstration was peaceful and without tension.
