On the 69th day of protests in Sofia (September 15), at 19:00 protesters began gathering in Independence Square with the familiar demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev.
The protest passed calmly, without provocations.
What was new tonight was an initiative announced on social media. The protesting mothers from "The System Kills Us" gave the microphone to the young people. The aim of this initiative was to make everyone hear why the young people were there, what they wanted and what they were fighting for. Mostly students and athletes spoke.
According to the protesting mothers, it is very important to hear their voice, because the future is in the hands of the young. They said they wanted a better future for themselves and for everyone else.
At 19:40, the traffic on Tsar Osvboditel Blvd. was blocked by the sound equipment of the protest organisers from the Poisonous Trio. Bulevard Dondukov remained opened to traffic.
About 21:30, the protesters went on the procession from Independence square to Eagles’ Bridge. One of the protest organisers, lawyer Nikolai Hadzhigenov, said that there would be a surprise tomorrow, but did not specify what it would be.
