The European Commission has approved the proposal of the members of the European parliament from the Bulgarian party GERB Emil Radev and Andrey Novakov for introducing a programme to tackle double standard of food. Non-governmental organizations can apply for the programme.
Andrey Novakov – member of the European parliament from GERB: The collected data from conducted tests and the increased capacity of these organizations should be used for introducing minimal standards in the EU. By the end of August, there will be a change in the European budget to the amount of 1,300,000 EUR. The implementation of the programme is expected to start at the beginning of 2019. A public procurement with an external contractor will be announced. Novakov hopes there will be results even before 2019. He expects organizations from Bulgaria to apply for this programme of the EU for grants.
