The fifth annual meeting of the High Level Interconnection Group in Central and Southeast Europe is held in Sofia on 29th of June. The forum is hosted by Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova. Special guest is the Climate Action and Energy Commissioner, Miguel Cañete.
Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev and EU commissioner Canete described the meeting a very important.
They stressed that if 5 years ago there was talk of interconnection gas interconnection, now electricity intercoonection is added to it, as well as the construction of renewable energy sources.
The participants in the meeting focused on two projects - the construction of a gas pipeline from Romania via Hungary to Austria, which is supposed to deliver Romanian gas to Central Europe, as well as the construction of the gas interconnection between Bulgaria and Greece, which is considered the main route for delivery of Azerbaijani gas.
