As of April 1, prices of natural gas and heating are with new lower prices. This is set out in a decision of Bulgaria’s Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, which comes into force immediately.
The recalculation of the heating bills will be made on the basis of estimates because the heating season is not over yet.
The price of natural gas has dropped by nearly 43% after Bulgargas and the Russian supplier Gazprom agreed to change the formula for calculating the price by including a market element in it.
As a result of the reduced price of natural gas, the prices of heating and hot water will also go down at the end of the season. The largest decrease in the heating prices will be in Sofia, by 26%, and the smallest decrease will be in the coastal city of Varna, by 8,27%.The average decrease for the country will be by nearly 22%.
