Enhanced road checks continue. Bulgaria’s Ministry of the Interior on 16th of August presented data from the TISPOL operation, conducted last week on speed control. More than 2,000 more violations have been identified, compared with the results of the inspections in April this year. Larger number of electronic tickets have been issued for committed violations.
28,603 cases of speeding were identified within the large-scale speed operation. Most of the violations were in Sofia – 3212, followed by the violations in the territory of Veliko Turnovo – 2171. Blagoevgrad is third, where there are 1,831 cases of speeding.
Sanctions were imposed on many drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
Nearly 6,000 cars and 8,000 people were checked on 15th of August. 2,208 tickets and 917 acts were issued. Also, 546 electronic tickets were issued and 82 driving licenses were withdrawn.
Enhanced checks will continue throughout the country by the end of September.
