The excise duty on heated tobaccos should go up by 50% to BGN 233 per kg of tobacco. This was decided by the MPs from the Parliament's budget committee.
The texts will be submitted for a second reading in e plenary hall.
Initially, the MPs planned to equalise the excise on cigarettes and on heated tobacco products or the so-called smokeless cigarettes, but thy have given up the idea.
Between the two readings, Menda Stoyanova, the author of the texts, changed her proposal. Today, 24th of July, she proposed that the idea of increasing the excise duty on beer should be dropped.
