The state budget deficit for November had dropped to 0.6%, Finance Minister Asen Vassilev said on December 1. He commented that for the first time in more than 20 years, the state collected more revenue from taxes than it spent in November.

"Tax collection measures are starting to bear fruit. Collection rate has increased significantly, we are about to over-implement the budget with a deficit lower that the one set as target. We have a very clear framework for next year's budget; there are some things that need to be reviewed further in the tax laws, but that gives a stable base," he commented. The participants in the meeting discussed the support for the 2024 State Budget Bill, he specified.
