The first case of flu of the "Cambodia" type has been confirmed in Bulgaria after a woman who returned to Bulgaria from France 4 days ago has developed symptoms.
The virus was proven in the laboratory of the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. The woman had a high fever and a cough. The coronavirus test she had in Sofia was negative.
She also had a quick flu test, which was positive. A sample was sent for testing to the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. Influenza A (H3N2) has been confirmed.
According to epidemiologists, the virus is already circulating in Europe. It is accompanied by complications that often require hospital treatment.
