Boyko Borissov is being questioned at the General Directorate ”National Police” and will stay there all night. This was confirmed to BNT by his lawyer Menko Menkov.
He also said that the opposition GERB leader and former PM will spend the night in the GD “National Police”. He denied that the arrest was about abuse of EU funds, and said it was a signal about blackmail from "Boets" (Bulgaria United for One Goal) civic movement.
Meanwhile, the GERB press centre confirmed that Menda Stoyanova was not detained.
GERB politicians and party supporters gathered in front of the National Police headquarters in support of their leader, Boyko Borissov. Tomorrow they are organising a protest from 9.00 am in front of the Council of Ministers to demand the resignation of the government.
