All persons who confirmed positive for COVID-19, were hospitalised and discharged from hospital are subject to mandatory home isolation (quarantine) for 28 days, according to an order issued by Bulgaria’s health minister on March 27.

The following confirmed cases of COVID-19 are also subject to mandatory home isolation (quarantine):

  • persons without symptoms, i.e. those who have been in contact with coronavirus cases or identified during the epidemic study;
  • persons with mild clinical symptoms (body temperature of 38 degrees per Celsius , cough, fatigue, runny nose, sore throat, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and / or diarrhea, without changes in mental status, i.e. confusion or lethargy, and without accompanying chronic diseases or immunocompromising conditions, etc.)

The measures set out in the order are being taken to limit the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
