The Committee on Anti-corruption, Conflict of Interests and Parliamentary Ethics on 6th of March holds a hearing of the candidates for the post of head of the new Anti-Corruption Body.
The admitted candidates for the Head of the Commission for Counteracting Corruption and Forfeiture of Illegally Acquired Property are two: Plamen Dimitrov and Nikolai Nikolov. Plamen Dimitrov is the proposal of the ruling GERB and United Patriots. He is a prosecutor, and since 2013 he has been the head of the commission for the forefeiture of the illegally acquired property. The opposition, the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, nominated Nikolai Nikolov. He is also a lawyer and is the Chair of the Commission for the detection and prevention of conflicts of interests.
