The water level of Yantra river in Bulgaria’s old capital Veliko Turnovo went up after torrential rains and in the morning on 26th of May reached 5,70 m. The river has not burst its banks yet. The flood stage is 6,50 m.
Streets in the nearby villages of Shemshevo and Ledenik and the road connecting them are partially flooded. The public transport is diverted to a different route. A flood warning has been issued for the residents of Assenov neighbourhood in Veliko Turnovo.

The mayor of Veliko Turnovo, Daniel Panov convened the crisis management staff late on 25th of May when the river levels started to critically rise.
The heavy rains in the area triggered landslides in the passage of Shipka. Local emergency teams are working to remove the landslide debris and keep the road open for traffic.

The Stara Reka river in the town of Kazanlak, central Bulgaria, overflowed. Roads, streets and farm yards are flooded. No people or animals were trapped by the rising waters.
Most complicated is the situation in the village of Enina. The river burst its banks shortly after 21:00 on 25th of May and flooded several streets. The traffic on the road connecting Enina and the Village of Krun was closed because of the flooding. Two bridges collapsed leaving several houses cut off.
