From 8.00 on July 2, Ilinden-Exochi checkpoint at Bulgaria’s border with Greece is open to all vehicles, the district governor of Blagoevgrad, Nikolay Shushkov, told BNT.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the border crossing was closed for more than a year. It will be open 24 hours and it will be possible to pass through it with the new European digital certificate.
The checkpoint was supposed to open on July 1, but remained closed until today due to delays in the delivery of readers for the new European COVID certificates.
