An international literary festival "He who saves one human life, saves the whole universe" is held in Bulgaria’s coastal city of Burgas. The theme "Stories of Darkness and Light" is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews and paying tribute to the victims of the Holocaust.
More than 170 young authors from 9 countries wrote essays and stories related to the dark events during the genocide and the rescue of the Jews.
According to the organisers, the works are a kind of memorial of gratitude, and the young writers - spiritual heirs of the rescuers. An expert jury will determine the best stories. Vice President Iliana Iotova was an official guest at the event.
