At the EU-Western Balkans summit, held in Sofia on 17 May 2018, the EU leaders agreed on the Sofia Declaration, which was joined by the Western Balkan partners.
The EU welcomes the shared commitment of the Western Balkan partners to the European values and principles and the vision for a strong, stable and united Europe based on our historical, cultural and geographical links and mutual interests in the fields of politics, security and the economy.
This is stated in the declaration that the EU leaders agreed upon at the Summit in Sofia and to which the partners from the Western Balkans joined.
