Major Repair of Graf Ignatiev Street in Sofia Starts on May 7

The repair of “Graf Ignatiev” Street in the section from "Alabin" Street to "Garibaldi" square will start on 7^th of May, Evgeni Kusev, Deputy Mayor of Sofia told BNT on 2^nd of May.

He explained that the project envisages the replacement of the tram lines along the street, the repair of Slaveykov book market and Garibaldi squares and the garden in front of the church of St. Sedmochislenitsi.

The repair of Slaveykov square is planned to be completed in the middle of the summer. The project envisages reconstruction of the water fountain as well. for the period of the reconstruction, the book market is moved to the garden oposite Rila hotel.

Trams on Graf Ignatiev street will be temporarily stopped. A temporary bus will be launched. It will depart from Hladilnika and will pass along the section under repair.

The stalls of the market at the Church of the St. Sedmochislenitsi will be removed for the period of the repair. The market will be restored after the completion of the project but will not be in the garden. Levski Blvd. will be re-asphalted in the section from Sofia University to Graf Ignatiev Street.
