Bulgaria’s municipality of Bansko said on May 12 that the mass testing for coronavirus was completed and shows that its population is healthy and the town is “clean” of Covid-19.
The mass testing was carried out after the town was locked down in March for two weeks because several cases of coronavirus were identified there.
The presence of antibodies was identified in 115 residents.
In the past month, a total of 2,250 people have been tested with rapid tests. At the discretion of the health authorities, some of the individuals were tested with PCR tests. The results are negative, the municipality of Bansko announced today.
Priority was given to frontline police officers, medical personnel and social workers. All employees in the field of hotel and restaurant business in the resort were tested, as well as many residents of Bansko.
