Mayor of Mladost District in Sofia Arrested over Alleged Bribe-Taking

The Mayor of Mladost district, Desislava Ivancheva, was arrested outside the Ministry of Sports in Sofia during an anticorruption operation on 17^th of April, BNT reporter Yavor Simov said.

Allegedly, she has received a bribe of 70,000 euros.

The arrest is allegedly for a bribe taken for issuing a building permit, for which Ivancheva has requested a quarter of a million, while the 70,000 euros were the first installment. More information will be available on 18^th of April at 11:00 a.m. at the press conference in the Specialized Prosecutor's Office.

The Deputy Mayor of the municipality and the person who allegedly mediated in the delivery of money have also been arrested.
