Bulgaria’s Council for Electronic Media (CEM) on October 27 elected Milen Mitev as the new director-general of the public service broadcaster Bulgarian National Radio.
Four out of the five members of CEM voted in favour of Mitev. Rosita Elenova abstained.
In his management programme, Mitev defined as his main priority the translation of the traditional advantages and values of radio in the digital medium.
He said that one of his main goals will be to achieve an increase in the income of the radio employees.
Mitev’s election comes after Andon Baltakov resigned from the post in August. Mitev had been temporarily running BNR since then.
