Mothers of disabled children plan to stage effective protest

The draft law for Integration of People with Disabilities, which is being prepared by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, has caused dissatisfaction.Protesting mothers of children with disabilities said on 16^th of July they were leaving the working group, because most of the texts were copied from the exisiting law, and on July 30 they would stage an effective protest.

Notational ombudsperson Maya Manolova said the draft law does not solve the problems of people with disabilities.

It is worrying that absolutely nothing will change for the people with disabilities. The draft reproduces 70% of the existing law, as in most of the texts situation has worsened instead of being improved. As an ombudsperson, I do not want to become an accomplice to this imitation of reform and to this misleading of people with disabilities, Manolova said.
