MPs and staff of Bulgaria’s Parliament will donate blood to motivate more people to take part in blood donation initiatives.
The event was supported by the Bulgarian Red Cross and the National Centre for Transfusion Hematology. It comes amid statistics, according to which Bulgaria is at one of the last places in terms of number of volunteer blood donors in Europe.
More than 500 Bulgarians need blood transfusion every day. However, only a quarter of blood donors give blood for free.
