Mustafa Karadayi has resigned as chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), "24 hours" daily reported on November 7, citing unofficial sources from the movement.
MRF (a centrist, liberal party led and supported mainly by Bulgarians of ethnic Turkish descent) did not comment on the information, but said that a meeting of the party was currently underway.
Epicenter.bg said that MRF founder and honorary chair, Ahmed Dogan, will become chairman of the MRF until the party's conference in February 2024 elects a successor.
Since 16 October, MP Delyan Peevski has been co-chair of the MRF parliamentary group. He shared the post with the party's outgoing leader Mustafa Karadayi.
