From today, 1st of August, the bank charges are changing. The Bulgarian National Bank sets a ceiling on commissions that are charged for cashing at an ATM, opening an account or paying with a debit card. The charge to open a current account will be lower. It will cost a maximum of 1.79 BGN, which is over 10% cheaper. However, the service will increase and will cost 2.27 BGN per month.
It would be more expensive to withdraw cash from the account at the bank's office, as the average fee for amounts of up to 1,000 BGN will increase from 0.89 BGN to 1.02 BGN.
