There will be no additional stricter anti-epidemic measures after the Omicron variant of Covid-19 was confirmed in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria is to amend the order, which sets out the rules for entry to the country. Those arriving from countres classified as a red zone will be required to provide, in addition to a certificate of vaccination or of having undergone Covid-19, a negative result of a PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to arriving.
This was decided by the newly formed pandemic committee at the Ministry of Health, which met for the first time today, January 4.
A meeting of the municipal headquarters took place in Sofia, where the number of Covid-19 cases is rising in the recent days.
