Assets of national railways operator are not to be sold, reads a statement by the BDZ (Bulgarian State Railways) following some media speculations. Recent reports say that creditors have frozen millions of levs, granted to BDZ and will be selling out 25 locomotives and 1200 carriages.

Two creditors of the second obligation loan have subpoenaed BDZ-Passenger Services for 40 millions of the principal. A Sofia City Court decision has partly approved of 20 millions levs in favour of debenture holders as a result of which bank accounts of the company have been frozen, a press release by the BDZ explains.
The Court's decision and temporary distrainment on the accounts of BDZ-Passenger Services will not hamper the operations of the company for the moment, in case an appropriate solution for the situation be found shortly.
