Fire broke out in a workshop for production of plastic pipes near Tsarigradsko shosse in Sofia in the morning on 12th of March. The incident was reported about 8:30. Four fire-fighting teams extinguished the fire. No one has been injured.
There are no dangerous levels of harmful substances in the air after the fire, the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Waters (RIEW) in Sofia said.
The Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water carried out a survey with a gas analyser (Gasmet DX 4040) in the area of Tsarigradsko shosse.
The values of the air quality indicators, measured in close proximity to the workshop for the production of plastic pipes, did not show dangerous levels of harmful substances in the ambient air. At the time of measurement, the concentration leveks were below the detection limits.
About 10 people work in the workshop. It is supposed that the fire started from a machine in the workshop. Its roof is completely burned. The causes for the fire are still being clarified.
