One worker died and one is burned in a fire accident at factory 3 of Arsenal military plant in the town of Kazanlak on 14th of March. The accident was reported at 10:30, the regional police directorate in Stara Zagora announced. Fire engines, ambulances, and police have arrived at the place of the incident.
There is still no official information about what exactly happened at 10:20 in workshop 130 of factory 3 plant, BNT reporter Desislava Petkova said. As far as it is known, gunpowder is used in the work process in this workshop. A fire occurred killing a 39-year-old worker. Another one was severely injured and is transported to the clinic for burn injuries in Plovdiv. He is suffering a high degree of burns.
There is no official statement from the plant.
An investigation is under way. Teams of labour inspection, fire fighting service, the police and the district prosecutor of Stara Zagora arrived on-site.
In Parliament, Interior Minister Valentin Radev commented on the incident saying, the possible reason is human error and non-compliance with the technology rules.
