Parents, who are against the wearing of protective masks by the students during the new school year, on September 14 are organising a national protest "No to masks and isolators at school". The protest takes place in front of the building of the Ministry of Education and Science in Sofia. Parents are expected to submit their requests to the regional departments of education in Blagoevgrad, Bourgas, Plovdiv, Shumen and Yambol.
Parents want the measures for wearing masks to be recommendable, not mandatory.
Currently, the measures against the spread of coronavirus, prepared by experts from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, include wearing protective masks in school corridors and toilets.

According to the parents, however, the short time during which the children will be obliged to wear masks is a prerequisite, especially for the younger students, the masks to be stepped on and made dirty.
Parents have also spoken out against the isolating areas, where children who show symptoms are expected to be separated from the other students while waiting to be picked up by a parent.
“It is not known which child would end up in this isolating area. This isolator will become a room of shame for children. And also, there may be children who have different viruses," Lilia Bozhkova explained.
The parents' protest is expected to move to the Ministry of Health building.
