Bulgaria’s Parliament on 15th of February rejected the veto of President Rumen Radev on the amendments to the Law on Seeds and Planting Material, which amends the Law on the Conservation of Agricultural Land. The disputed texts relate to the amended rules for changing the status of lands intended for agricultural purposes.
The MPs adopted the amendments to the Law on Seeds and Planting Material with the votes of the ruling coalition partners GERB and United Patriots, supported by Volya party.
President’s motives for imposing the veto were that the new texts in the law would make it easier for land owners to change the status of farmlands.
