A scandal broke out in Bulgaria’s Parliament on 15th of November after the majority rejected the Bulgarian Socialist Party’s (BSP) request to call Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to explain recent comment he made to the media that some MPs were involved in drug-trafficking and vote-buying from prisoners. Ninova said that the PM did not respect the MPs and called them idlers.
In response, the Speaker of Parliament, Dimitar Glavchev, ordered the BSP leader Kornelia Ninova to leave today’s sitting.
He also ordered the BSP MP Anton Kutev out of the siting for calling for Speaker’s resignation. After that, BSP officially demanded the Speaker’s resignation. BSP then walked out. They said that they would initiate a petition among MPs to call for the resignation of Glavchev as Speaker.
