Bulgaria’s Parliament Speaker, Tsveta Karayancheva, commented on the EP resolution during a visit to Veliko Turnovo on October 9.
The European Parliament adopted a rule of law resolution on Bulgaria
Tsveta Karayancheva: This resolution is a political act, it has neither legislative nor legal value. We have shown that we are complying with the recommendations from Europe, which are in the reports. The most important thing we have undertaken as a commitment was to continue working on reforms. The resolution will only benefit the opposition and you will see what will happen next week, but, unfortunately, there is a double standard in this resolution, because the remarks of our MEPs were not included.
