The debate lasted about four hours
Parliament will vote on the draft resolution for a no-confidence motion against the Zhelyazkov government tomorrow (Thursday) at 13:30. The announcement was made by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, following the conclusion of the debate, which lasted around four hours.
Under the rules of procedure of the National Assembly, voting on a no-confidence resolution must take place no earlier than 24 hours after the end of the debate. A motion is successful if it is supported by more than half of all MPs.
This sixth no-confidence motion against the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov was submitted last Friday by “We Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria” and supported by the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” and “Morality, Unity, Honour” groups. The motion alleges failure in the government’s economic policy.
