The Pass of the Republic is temporarily closed for traffic of cargo vehicles in both directions, the press office of the Ministry of Interior announced on 23rd of July. The lorries are waiting on the spot, the by-pass route for cars is via the old road to Debelets. The reason for the closure is a road traffic accident near the city of Veliko Tarnovo.
The accident was reported at about 16:00. A lorry and a car crashed. According to preliminary data there are three injured. Teams of Traffic Police and doctors were sent to the scene of the accident.
