For the first time, Bulgarian doctors from the Military Medical Academy in Sofia used plasma from the blood of coronavirus survivor to treat a patient currently ill with the disease. The antibodies of a volunteer, who recovered from Covid-19 was given to a patient in serious condition under strict safety measures.
The head of the national task force, Major-General, Prof. Mutafchiyski explained that the patient was given fresh blood plasma, not frozen, which according to him has advantages of the treatment method. This is the first time we are using blood of coronavirus survivor to treat a patient with the virus, he added.
On April 30, the patient was in good condition and did not have high temperature, he said.
