Plovdiv district extends closing of schools due to flu

All schools on the territory of Plovdiv district, Southern Bulgaria, remain closed for extended period of time because of type B flu, the regional crisis staff said on March 9 after a meeting.

The “flu vacation” is extended due to rise in flu incidence among pupils, reaching 130 cases per 10,000.

Last week, schools cancelled classes until March 11 because of a rise in type B flu cases. The extension is until the end of this week.
