Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov congratulated Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the election victory in the early presidential and parliamentary elections held in Turkey on 24th of June, the press office of the Council of Ministers said on 25th of June.
"I am convinced that the will expressed by the Turkish people today will be the basis for the stable and consolidated development of Turkey in all areas," the Bulgarian Prime Minister said.
He expressed satisfaction with the increased contacts between Bulgaria and Turkey in recent years, and said he relied on active bilateral cooperation to continue, the announcement said.
"I believe that we will work together to strengthen the relations between our two countries in the field of migration, as well as for peace and stability in the region," Borissov added.
Borissov briefed Erdogan on the position he presented to the European leaders in Brussels that the agreement with Turkey should continue in order to overcome the migrant crisis and that he once again urged the EU to pay the rest of the approved funds.
The Turkish president thanked the Bulgarian Prime Minister and expressed hope for an even more successful partnership between the two countries.
