Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov talked with European Parliament President Antonio Tajani before presenting the results from the work of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the European Union in the plenary hall in Strasbourg, the government press office said on 3rd of July.
"The priorities set by the Bulgarian Presidency have been succeeded," the President of the European Parliament said. He thanked for the good cooperation during the presidency. "We worked very well with you, your team and the ministers," Tajani told Prime Minister Borissov.
"We did what we promised at the start of our presidency. We sought a consensus among states and institutions, even when there were big controversies," PM Borissov said. He expressed confidence that the issue of the development of the Western Balkans countries would remain among the EP's priority policies.
"Our successes are yours as well, because if we did not work together, they would have never happened," the Prime Minister stressed. He emphasised the importance of infrastructure, transport and digital connectivity projects, stating that this would be a guarantor for security and peace in the region, including on the topic of migration.
