Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with Europol's future director, Catherine De Bolle, on 16th of March.
The two have discussed the fight against terrorism, human trafficking, the misuse of payment instruments and computer crimes. They have evaluated the highly successful joint operations of the Bulgarian and Belgian police services on counter-terrorism. Boyko Borissov pointed out that Europol has always been a reliable partner of Bulgaria in the fight against migration pressure, smuggling of cigarettes and misuse of payment instruments.
Catherine de Bol will take over the post of Europol director as of 1st of May.
