Police and gendarmerie in joint operation against noisy weddings and loud music

Enhanced presence of gendarmerie and police in the country due to noisy weddings and loud music at night. The joint patrols are on duty in Pazardzhik, Panagyurishte, Peshtera, Septemvri and Velingrad.

The late night noisy celebrations during the summer months are a serious problem for the Stamboliiski Municipality, one of the municipalities of the region of Plovdiv, Southern Bulgaria. After the sun goes down, music is heard even from a long distance. Sound systems are being carried around in cars, blocking whole streets.

Four signals were sent to the district administration for 30 minutes in relation to the latest outdoor engegement event. The mayor also called twice. The first time as a citizen, the second time as an official.

The Interior Ministry's press office has announced that the District Directorate of Plovdiv is conducting an investigation.

In Pazardzhik, only for a month and a half, there were 80 signals for loud music.

The analysis of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Pazardjik shows that during the summer months, many Bulgarians working abroad go back to the country for vacation and celebrate their return home with noisy parties. Therefore, in the last few years, the police have been stepping up joint patrols not only in Pazardzhik, but also in Panagyurishte, Peshtera, Septemvri and Velingrad.
