The President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen will arrive on an official visit to Bulgaria on 3rd of May, at the invitation of Bulgaria’s head of state, President Rumen Radev, the press secretary of the head of state announced. The ceremony for the official reception of the Austrian President will take place at the St. Alexander Nevski Square in Sofia at 10:00.
The presidents of Bulgaria and Austria will have a one-to-one meeting at 2:30 pm at the President’s Office follow3d by the plenary talks of the official delegations of the two countries. Rumen Radev and Alexander Van der Bellen will hold a joint press conference at 11.35.
From 15.30, the two presidents will deliver speeches to the participants in the Bulgarian-Austrian Business Forum, which will be held at Balkan Hotelv in Sofia.
On May 4, Alexander Van der Bellen will take part in the informal meeting of the presidents of Bulgaria, Romania and Austria in the city of Rousse, on the Danube. The meting is expected to reaffirm the political will of the three countries that will consecutively hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for continuity on key topics such as the European perspective for the Western Balkans, the future of cohesion policy, energy and transport connectivity in the Danube region.
During his visit to Bulgaria, the Austrian president will also meet with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
